House Made Of Dawn
Director Richard Morse, (1972)
This historic film explores the reclaiming of Native identity - a key theme of contemporary Native American life. N. Scott
Momaday's novel, House Made of Dawn, was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1969 and continues to receive
abundant critical attention, remaining a landmark for film and literature. The film offers a view of Native men and women
navigating non-Native social institutions in cities, in the military, boarding schools, in courts and in prisons.
Followed by a panel discussion and q&a.
This event is free and open to all participants and the public.
